Dong Kong, Ph.D. Founder
Chairman of the Board; Chairman of the Scientific & Clinical Advisory Board
Advancing Gut-Brain Science for Precision Health
Dr. Kong is a leading neuroscientist whose pioneering work has shaped our understanding of the complex interplay between brain function and metabolic regulation. Currently serving as Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School, Research Associate at Boston Children’s Hospital, and an Associate Member at Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, Dr. Kong’s research integrates molecular biology, neurogenetics, and cutting-edge imaging to investigate how neural circuits govern metabolism, cognition, and behavior.
Born in Qufu, China, Dr. Kong earned his PhD in Genetics and Molecular Biology from Nanjing University and completed postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School in the labs of Dr. Brad Lowell and Dr. Bernardo Sabatini. His academic appointments span Tufts University and Harvard, with affiliations at the Broad Institute and the F.M. Kirby Neurobiology Center.
Dr. Kong is a scientific co-founder and advisor to several biotech ventures and has been recognized with numerous honors. His work has been published in Nature, Cell, Neuron, and other top-tier journals, and he serves on multiple editorial and grant review boards internationally.
A mentor, inventor, and thought leader in neuro-metabolic research, Dr. Kong continues to push the boundaries of science at the intersection of brain and body.
